Storing your car for winter – By: Adam Moore
Some of us just don’t drive our BMW’s in the bad winter weather. Others do. For those that do,
sandbags in the trunk and good winter tires are the way to go. For those of us that cater to our sweet
rides I offer the following:
Fill that gas tank with premium fuel
Add fuel stabilizer to the gas tank
Perform an oil change
Clean the inside and the outside
If possible park on a sheet of plastic or carpet to keep moisture from wicking from the concrete
Either disconnect/remove the battery or connect a battery tender
Use a high quality car cover that is soft on the inside
Jack the car off the ground and use four quality jack stands to support the car to keep the tires round
And the last step…give your BMW a nice hug and talk kindly to it so it will be there waiting for warmer
weather
Presidents Corner – By: Adam Moore
In the last issue I talked about having a winery tour. Insurance issues have delayed that event. The
BMW CCA requires any organized drive to have insurance and the procedures just weren’t clear enough
to proceed. We are working them out and hopefully can have it worked out so we can do an end of year
drive this season and then next year really get active and have some fun!
As you have read above our chapter participated in the ZSCCA Cloverleaf drive this year. We had a
blast and I hope more of us will attend next year.
We have grown a little this year picking up a few new members. I hope all of you are talking up the
club to every BMW and Mini owner you see. The more members that are in the club the more fun we can
have!
As the holidays are rolling around we will all look forward to another club gathering so be on the watch
for details.
Meanwhile…keep all four tires on the ground…unless of course you are lifting one of them in a tight
corner!
