I'll have to see how all of this work stands up to routine washings and summer weather. At least for now,
the payoff is a beautiful Imola Red with a finish that is silky smooth and great to look at.

BMW HPDE– By: Luke McGrew

High Performance Driving Events better known as HPDE/Track days are a great way to further your skills
as a driver and enjoy the performance and handling of your BMW in a safe environment. When I say safe
environment I mean getting to drive on some of the greatest race tracks in the country. Within a 4-6 hour
drive from WV there is Mid-Ohio, Virginia International Raceway, Summit Point, Pitt Race, and NCM.

Getting on track usually involves signing up with any car club that runs at any particular track. Some of
the more popular events are held by local BMW clubs, Porsche clubs, Audi clubs, Chin Motor Sports, and
Trackdaze, just to name a few. You don’t have to own a BMW to drive in a BMW event, the same goes for
Porsche and Audi, the clubs are just one ones renting the track, its generally first come first serve. These
events are quite popular and the spots go fast.

Going to a HPDE for the first time can be a bit nerve racking. It requires a great deal of focus so a good
nights rest before each day is highly recommended. All drivers are grouped based on experience,
beginner/novice drivers always have an in car instructor for the weekend to help you learn the basics of
performance driving, there is usually two classroom sessions per day to further your knowledge about
basic car control. You will be amazed in a two day time period how much you’re driving improves.
