I tend to be rather curated about who I follow on social media. I don’t want my apps flooded with slop, and I’d much rather hear about people I know than every brand known to man. But, sometimes, I just have to follow something if I can’t get enough of it. A few months ago, that happened when 4N Motorsport came across my feed.
This shop is doing something rad with BMW engines, destroking them to build small-displacement monsters that rev to 9000 rpm. It’s a wonderful thing. Recently, YouTuber Jack Schnatter sent his M4 to 4N for a full overhaul, and he just got the car back:
Ignore the normal YouTuber thumbnail there an anything else you might find objectionable, because the sound of this car is worth the cost of entry. It sounds wild, I never knew how badly I needed a 2.6-liter straight-six.
And if that’s not crazy enough, 4N has an even crazier one. Mike, the owner, has been working on a 2.4-liter version that can rev to, get this, 11,000 rpm. Madness. Check it out below, it sounds like an F1 car.
