BMW M Motorsport factory driver Dan Harper will contest the Asian Le Mans Series with Team WRT in an M4 GT3 EVO. Harper will share the #69 car with Bronze-rated driver Anthony McIntosh and Silver-rated driver Parker Thompson.
The trio in the #69 car should be very competitive. Harper has already established himself as one of the fastest young drivers in the sport, having most recently won the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship Endurance Cup championship with Max Hesse and Connor De Phillippi.
Parker Thompson has also been very successful driving for Lexus in IMSA, having come up through the open-wheel ladder system before switching to GT cars. Anthony McIntosh is the amateur in the group but has a lot of experience in Lamborghini Super Trofeo, Michelin Challenge and even the Le Mans Cup in an LMGT3 car. Thompson and McIntosh may be driving for WRT in the FIA World Endurance Championship LMGT3 class in 2026 as well, having both tested the M4 GT3 EVO in the recent WEC rookie test at Bahrain.
Team WRT will also field a second M4 GT3 EVO in the Asian Le Mans Series, with Fabian Duffieux and Mathieu Detry sharing the #28 car with factory driver Augusto Farfus.
The Asian Le Mans Series has a short season that begins at the end of 2025 and ends in early 2026, and there are two four-hour races per weekend. The first two rounds are at the Sepang International Circuit in Malaysia on December 13th-14th, followed by rounds three and four at the Dubai Autodrome on January 31st – February 1st. The final two rounds are at the Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi on February 7th-8th.
The Asian Le Mans Series features three racing classes, with LMP2 and LMP3 prototypes as well as the GT class for GT3-spec cars. There are 48 cars on the entry list for the opening rounds in Sepang, with 22 of them in the GT class. The BMWs will be competing against five other brands, including Mercedes-AMG, Ferrari, Porsche, Aston Martin, and McLaren, with many factory drivers on the entry.
